Book Donations

The students of OpenArc Campus, in collaboration with Ministry of Education visit rural schools of the country to donate books, stationary items etc., as a charity service. In a recent project at Ihala Kiniyama Primary School and Pahala Konkadawala Kanishta Vidyalaya made the students and teachers of both schools pleased with the donations we made.

‘Nethsarana’ Free Cataract Operations

The ‘Nethsarana’ project of OpenArc offers free lenses to Eye Cataract patients. To help 400,000 such patients in the country with majority of them being rural villagers who cannot afford high cost of operations, the company launched this CSR project where patients may get the free lenses through the donors. While contributing as the principle donor, OpenArc maintains the ‘Nethsarana’ website to organize eye camps in rural villages to identify the patients for treatments and link them to donors.

‘SIYATHRA’ Project – Library Book Donations

In another project, students of the campus, donate books to the library of Minuwangoda Aluthapola Valagamba Maha Vidyalaya as a great meritorious deed of charity. Students, as well as teachers, principal of the school and parents were very pleased to have new books donated to their school library.

Monthly Dhamma Discussion

OpenArc Group of Companies organize a Dhamma discussion with Dehiwala Dhammaseela Thero, not only for OpenArc employees but also for the public to improve their psychological and spiritual health irrespective of the religion they are attached to. In fact, it is not a religious event or something to do with the religion but an intellectual dialogue on Dhamma, with philosophical discussion on ‘Truth of The Universe’ These Dhamma discussions are held on every Friday of last week of the month from 4.00 pm to 6.30 pm.

‘FUTURE ACEIVERS SRI LANKA’ (FASL) Project - Entrepreneurship & Leadership Development

OpenArc School organizes and sponsors jointly with World Vision, an Entrepreneurship & Leadership Development Programme at remote Rural Schools enriching the students to pursue their own carriers in business as self-employment. Present project is going on at a place in Puttalam District in order to upgrade the knowledge of business and entrepreneurship of school children.

Free Education & Job Opportunities for School Leavers

OpenArc Campus conducts awareness building programmes for students in O/L and A/L and invites talented IT students to come and grab opportunities at OpenArc to receive free education up to BIT degree and job opportunities available at OpenArc Systems, one of the leading software companies in the country.

Visit of Elderly Care Home by Student Council

OpenArc Campus students organize special events at Elders Homes and recently they spent a day at St’ Joseph’s home for elders in Piliyandala with the members of the student council.

Poson Dansala

To be in line with social and religious activities going on during Poson Festival time, OpenArc Group continue to offer foods to public in an event popularly known as ‘dansala’. This is an event organized by the welfare society of OpenArc Group with the support of its Management. Over 1,500 people visit the Dansala and such activities further endorse the strength and morale of the OpenArc team.

Projectile

Student council of OpenArc Campus organizes multidisciplinary activities to give the students a different experience and essential mental and physical training. This time it was a ground activity followed by a Zumba session for entertainment and good health of the students. This event included a CPR training session conducted by a physician, a First Aid training session and a session on development of leadership and students’ motivation as well.
